Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
  • 1/2 cup flour or gluten-free flour if needed
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs or regular breadcrumbs
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

Prep the Green Beans

  • Wash and trim the ends of your green beans. Pat them dry to remove any moisture.

Set Up the Breading Station

  • In one bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg. In the third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.

Coat the Green Beans

  • Dip each green bean into the flour mixture, then the egg, and finally coat it in the breadcrumbs. Place the breaded green beans on a plate.

Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil.

Air Fry the Green Beans

  • Arrange the green bean fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Serve & Enjoy

  • Once crispy and golden, remove from the air fryer and let cool for a minute or two. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

  • For extra crispy green beans, make sure not to overcrowd the basket. You may need to cook in batches.
  • Feel free to switch up the spices according to your preferences (chili powder, cayenne, or Italian seasoning work great, too).
  • These green bean fries are best eaten fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
