Air Fryer Chicken Thighs Recipe

If you're like me, some nights you just want something that’s easy to make but still tastes amazing. Enter air fryer chicken thighs. I’ve made these so many times, and they never fail to impress. The skin gets all crispy, the meat stays juicy, and it’s ready in about 20 minutes! It’s a total lifesaver when I’m running out of time but still want something that feels like a special dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika smoked paprika is optional for extra flavor
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme or oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

Prep Chicken:

  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel. Drizzle with olive oil and rub it in. Sprinkle with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper. Rub the seasoning all over the chicken.

Preheat Air Fryer:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.

Cook Chicken (10 mins - Skin-side Down):

  • Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F for 10 minutes.

Flip and Cook (10-12 mins - Skin-side Up):

  • After 10 minutes, flip the thighs over so the skin side is facing up. Cook for an additional 10-12 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

Rest and Serve:

  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes to lock in the juices. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, increase the cooking time by 2-3 minutes.
  • If using skinless thighs, reduce cooking time slightly and check for doneness.
