For the Cake:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup buttermilk or milk + ½ tbsp vinegar
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup butter melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Crumble Topping:
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter softened
Mix the Batter - In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
Make the Crumble - In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Add softened butter and mash with a fork until crumbly.
