Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Servings 8 brownies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Nutella plus a little extra for swirling
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • cup sugar
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional 2 tablespoons chocolate chips or chopped hazelnuts

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, and egg until smooth. This is a great step for kids to help with — just expect a little mess.
  • Stir in the Nutella and vanilla extract until the batter looks thick and glossy. You can sneak a little taste here — I always do!
  • Add flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix, or the brownies will lose their fudgy texture.
  • Grease a small baking dish that fits inside your air fryer. Pour in the batter and swirl extra Nutella on top using a spoon.
  • Place the dish in your air fryer and cook at 320°F (160°C) for 14–16 minutes. Check at 13 minutes — the top should look set, but the middle should be soft and gooey.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with ice cream, caramel drizzle, or a glass of cold milk.

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Brownies

  • Do not overbake — brownies firm up as they cool.
  • Use parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top for that sweet and salty magic.
  • Each air fryer cooks differently, so start checking early.
  • Let the brownies rest before cutting to keep clean edges.

Variations

  • Peanut Butter Swirl: Add dollops of peanut butter before air frying for a fun twist.
  • Double Chocolate: Mix in chocolate chips or chunks for extra richness.
