Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 ripe banana frozen for a thicker texture
  • 1 cup milk or dairy-free milk e.g., almond milk, soy milk, oat milk
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes if using fresh blueberries

Instructions

  • Prepare Ingredients: Wash the blueberries if fresh. Peel and slice the ripe banana if it's not already frozen. If you’re using fresh blueberries, add a handful of ice cubes to your blender to keep the smoothie chilled.
  • Combine Ingredients: Place the blueberries, frozen banana, milk (or dairy-free milk), and ice cubes into the blender. Add honey or maple syrup and vanilla extract if using.
  • Blend Until Smooth: Secure the lid on your blender and blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more milk. If it needs more sweetness, add extra honey or syrup.
  • Adjust Sweetness and Consistency: Taste your smoothie and adjust the sweetness or consistency as needed. Blend in more milk if it’s too thick or add a bit more sweetener if it’s not sweet enough.
  • Serve: Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately. For an extra touch, garnish with fresh blueberries or a slice of banana.

Notes

  • For a creamier smoothie, use frozen bananas.
  • Add a handful of spinach for a boost of greens without changing the flavor.
  • Use smoothie packs to prep ingredients ahead of time and freeze for quick, easy smoothies.
