Cuisine American
- 2 slices bread
- 4 oz cooked turkey sliced
- 2 tbsp cranberry sauce
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 lettuce leaves
- 2 slices tomato
- 1 slice cheese optional
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
Place the bread slices on a clean surface. Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each slice, making sure to cover the edges lightly.
Arrange the turkey slices on one piece of bread. Fold the slices slightly to create layers and cover the surface evenly.
Add cranberry sauce on top of the turkey. Spread it gently so every bite gets some flavor, but avoid adding too much.
Place lettuce leaves over the cranberry layer, followed by tomato slices. Add cheese if using, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down. Press lightly to hold the sandwich together without squeezing out the filling.
Cut the sandwich in half using a sharp knife. Serve immediately or wrap tightly for later use.
- Best made fresh, but can be wrapped and stored for a few hours
- Adjust cranberry sauce based on sweetness preference
- Use leftover turkey for a richer flavor
