Ingredients

  • 12 chicken wings fresh or thawed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar optional, for tanginess
  • 1 tablespoon honey for extra sweetness
  • Sesame seeds and green onions optional, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prep Your Wings

  • Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture (for crispiness).
  • Toss the wings with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

Step 2: Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.

Step 3: Air Fry the Wings

  • Place the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).
  • Air fry for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Check for doneness at the 15-minute mark, as air fryers can vary.

Step 4: Make the Sweet Chili Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar (if using), and honey.
  • Adjust sweetness or spiciness as desired.

Step 5: Coat the Wings

  • Once the wings are crispy and cooked through, transfer them to a large bowl.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the wings and toss until evenly coated.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

  • For extra flair, sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For crispier wings, avoid overlapping them in the air fryer.
  • Experiment with the sauce by adding chili flakes or a splash of lime for extra zing!
